FS5: Baseplate suggestions for PXW-FS5

Wondering what your suggestions might be for a proper baseplate and rails for the FS5. The Zacuto Mini-DSLR solution might work but wondered what else is out there.

I am working on a quick release 15mm rail kit for the FS5. I will have photos soon, and I will probably be shipping in 10 days or so.

Just an FYI , I had the Zacuto Mini baseplate for my FS100/700 and it was heavy and pretty tall. The lens mount on the FS5 is higher up than the FS100 and 700 and the Zacuto DSLR rig is even taller than the mini baseplate. I want a small, lightweight, low profile baseplate for 15mm rods

Wooden Camera makes both a fixed and Quick release plate for 15mm rods that is very small and lightweight. Quality is exceptional.

Thank you that looks great, the best I have seen so far. In my case I am so heavily invested in ARCA type plates and clamps for stills and video (Zacuto, Kessler, Really Right Stuff....) I can't switch to a one off proprietary system. Its been a standard size in still photography for years hope it continues to catch on with video

I am basing my Rod system on Swiss Arca, that is how you can disconnect from the rails leaving them on the sticks, but you can also just mount the camera on the sticks because it is all SA based.

I am also making it as light and compact as possible, like I said I will have photos soon. I think Swiss Arca is the best system for small and medium size cams. Actually it even works great on 8x10 view cams.

Looking forward to it... Just one more thing to add to my list of wants... no rubber pads on the plates, spend a $2000 bucks on a decent head and sticks and one plate makes the whole thing spongy like a $150 tripod :) For now I whipped this up for the times I need 15mm rods (lens support or a follow focus) RLB_8540web.jpgRLB_8541web.jpg
