Bars and Tone Question

Just wanted to confirm that there is no way to set broadcast tone in camera while recording color bars on the 100a (right?)

I always set color bars at the beginning of tape but assumed the camera could not generate tone. I know I can add in my NLE, but wondering if I can add in-camera. Thanks.

yah man its in the same area of the menu as the aspect ratio is. i believe at the bottom of that page.

Cant record tone on a DVX (unless they added it to 100B - but cant recall reading that). Do it in your NLE.

Markertek has a cool little gizmo to produce tone in the field. It is just a standard XLR connector with a tone generator built in. The unit is powered by the camera's phantom power and has a small red LED on top to indicate that it is on. I also purchased a XLR splitter to get tone to both channels. I think it costs about $20 - $30.
