Barry's SD Settings on CD-ROM

This is probably a VERY basic question... but I have Barry's book and cd-rom... I want to install the file settings for the camera from the cd to a SD card.

Is this done by attaching the camera (with SD card inside) to the computer and somehow importing?

Or would my laptop have to have a SD drive, etc.? And if so, is it just a matter of drag and drop of the files?

Drag & drop onto an SD card, keeping the directory structure the same. There's a readme.txt on the CD that explains how to do it.
