Barry's "LOLITE" scene for DJ group dance?

On page 242 of Barrys wonderful HMC book, there is a low light scene file, LOLITE.
Would that be good for a dance reception type setting where it's black but with flashing dance DJ lighting and effects?
I'm using an HMC150 and hck10(hmc40).
The 150 scene file is included on the CD but I haven't tried it yet.
Any recommendations?
 
The way you're describing it, that wouldn't necessarily be a case of "low light." The DJ lights are probably quite bright.

You Are right. It's like no light black except for all the DJ lights which are flashing and moving all over the place, different colors and effects. Thats what makes it hard. Not really plain low light.

Is DRS a good idea? Or will it just make the dark areas too noisy trying to bring them up?
 
Thank you. I've shot HD norm on this stuff before and it does ok I guess.
Trying to do a little better. B-str might be better.
Going to experiment some tonight and try to nail down a config. Just not sure where to start.
I'll stay away from DRS then.
