I got Barry's book and was ready to put his scene files on to my sd card. But in his book, he says that we should use an MXF-aware application (such as the P2 Viewer program) to load, change and save metadata on the sd card. I have a MAC and panasonic did not give us this option. Also, I don't have my panasonic manual with me, so I don't know how to get the computer to recognize the sd card to successfully ingest Barry's scene files to the card. Will a simple SD card reader work like this?

Or do I need something that is MXF-aware?

Dont beat me if it doesnt, but it looks like it should work(also if i am not on mac).
I either didnt use p2 viewer for changing the files, just did a text editing.

Good luck, maybe someone else can confirm this..but should work!(nothing that has to work with mxf-iits just text files!)

You only need the P2 Viewer to load, change and save metadata onto the SD card. Scene files are text files (.txt) - you can edit these files directly on the SD card with any standard text editor (or drag and drop from the PC to the SD card). I use the sd card reader included in my Dell 2405.

You can use P2 Log for Mac to access and upload metadata via the SD card.

Don't know if you can edit metedata with a text editor like Simple Text.

I use a similar USB adapter and it works fine.
