Hi,
Got Barry's AF100 DVD(s) from Fiercely Independent Films.
There are two DVDs. The first goes through the menu settings and modes
of the camera. This is on-par with the information that is provided in the
AF100 book. However, it's good to see some of the settings in "video" mode
rather than stills in the book because some of the settings don't quite translate
well to print media.
The second DVD, (IMHO), is essential to new (and even some experienced)
operators of the AF100. The operation of the camera, a tour of the features
and some "tips and tricks" on how to get the best out of the camera make this
DVD worth the purchase price. I dearly wish this was out when I got the AF100.
Media management is also covered.
For new users trying to get their heads around operation of the AF100, this DVD is
an excellent resource .. particularly the second DVD.
I wish that the DVD would have been in DVD-ROM format and included some of the
scene files in the book.
I'm not sure where they were manufactured .. but my set smelled really bad
.. I got
over it.
In any case .. even though I've had the AF100 for a while now, I still learned a thing or
two.
If I had to fault the production (and there aren't many things to harp about), some additional
information on integrating the AF100 into post-production work flows for the various NLE's and
some more info on "extending/accessorizing" the camera would have been nice
additions. That said, these topics are certainly beyond the scope of the AF100 as a video camera.
