Dear Barry: Some days ago I received your (now mine) HVX book and I must recognize that I learned a lot in just hours......Congratulations for your dedicate works about....I hope you can send some aditional upgrade HVX200 info to the book owners...some like a bulletin or some like that, 'cause I am sure you has discovered new important HVX info and tips ....just an idea......

By now I have a very simple question: I will shot some interviews for a documentary in HD, and I understand that 1080i is the way (pbs) ...but I don't know if I need shoot that in 60i or 30p....Any recomendation about?

Warm regards

Deparon

As for updates, that's what DVXUser.com is all about. Any new info will be shared here.

As for shooting for 1080i, you can use any of the HVX's modes. They're all transported in a 1080i stream, so they'll be compatible with 1080i broadcast. You just have to determine what "look" you're going for; whether you want the "reality" look (60i) or the "film" look (24p) or something that's somewhere in-between (30p).

OK got it.....Thanks for the quick info.....One question more, can I dubbing to MiniDv tape from a Firestore FS100?

regards

Sure, as long as the footage on the FS-100 was captured in DV mode. Put the camera in TAPE mode and VCR mode, play footage from the firestore and press the "record" buttons on the HVX.

But if you're asking if you can downrez HD footage from the firestore onto the tape, then no.
