Re: Barry Green is a national treasure.
I am another Barry Green acolyte. His post's here and at various other boards (2-pop) are always amongst the most informative and frequently most helpful in regards to making tough technical and equipment decisions. There are many of us that are just moving into this medium and I think there is a real shortage of information for those us trying to teach ourselves. Besides in the field, The boards are obviously the best places to learn but I think there is a need for more. Something more condensed. I come from the graphics/web world. It has an overall much smaller learning footprint than video. Video is a vast topic requiring a myriad of talents (audio lighting, composition, etc), equipment, software, and most importantly experience. I think there is plenty of opportunity to expand on the subject and that people will line up to pay moderate amounts (Total training is too expensive for most of us, I’d rather spend the money on equipment or software, is what I mean by moderate) to learn from the pros.
