And he's our resident tech guru!

Seriously -- I just spent some time going through your posts on about a half-dozen other boards, and you are the MAN!

We already knew that, but why not recognize it?

Re: Barry Green is a national treasure.

Yes! Barry is the man, the myth, the legend. Since I first discovered his takes I have been like "Wow. How does this dude know this stuff?"

I swear I have printed out more of his posts than anyone. He is the Guru and we should all FAST in honor of him; only till dinner though.

Praise Barry. Praise Barry!

Re: Barry Green is a national treasure.

I will hire some Showgirls to be his cheerleaders for a day :)

Re: Barry Green is a national treasure.

If enough people petition we could get a stat holiday. Every May 10 can be Barry Green day.

I second that. Also the showgirls.

Re: Barry Green is a national treasure.

Ssshhhhhh!!.... We don't want the word to get out too much.

We don't want to lose him to the trappings of success.

I mean, I don't want to be watching some VH-1 "Behind the Scenes" special one day showing Barry's meteoric rise to cult status and subsequent fall into the seedy underworld of Taco Bell eaters and 3-card monty pushers.

Oh sure, right now it's all like "We love you, Barry" and "I'm going to name my first born... Barry".

Make no mistake about it... those women on the Las Vegas escort trading cards are after you, Barry Green!

Death Row Records will make you an offer you can't refuse. Suge Knight is a big brother. Just ask Vanilla Ice.

??? ??? ???

Re: Barry Green is a national treasure.

What in the world is going on in here?? ::)

I am none of the above, just a guy who spends too much time on web boards.

Although, if I did write a book, you guys'd buy it, right?

Re: Barry Green is a national treasure.

that would be one big ass book.

Re: Barry Green is a national treasure.

I'm thinking of chronicling the process of making a no-budget feature, and going through the whole thing (sort of like Rodriguez' Rebel Without A Crew, but heavier on tech stuff and less on the diary aspect).

Basically, everything you have to know, start to finish, top to bottom, tech-wise, art-wise, budget-wise, directing-wise, post-wise, marketing-wise, etc. to make a no-budget feature film with the DVX100...

Re: Barry Green is a national treasure.

Whoa - let me correct that... not that *I* know all that stuff! I mean, I know some things about some things, but there would be lots to learn during that process as well. Pat would be shooting it (we've already started talking), and I'll pull in other experts in other areas, so it'd be a cornucopia of relevant information, not just one lone typist's tunnel-vision view of the way things should work...

Re: Barry Green is a national treasure.

Mais oui! Je parle un petit Francais!

(okay, that's about the limit of my french, bad grammar and all. So, no, maybe not a French version...) :)

So odd that about 15 DVXUser guys are all coming together to MAKE a feature right about now . . .
