Barry, a question on comparing gamma

Barry or anyone else that can answer this question.

Years back in film/broadcast school I was using the Panasonic-AJ-D610WA and another 4.1.1 camera a bit older than the 610. For a lot of shots I used tot set the gain to -3 (minus 3 not 3).

Not sure what exactly it did but it did give the camera a more film look. It also seemed to handle bright lights better (less blowout). I take it this was affecting the gamma curve some what?

If so which gamma curve on the HMC150 would be close?

Haven't used those... gain doesn't affect gamma, but it lowers the overall "sensitivity" and would indeed hold on to highlights better.

There is no -3dB on the HMC150, but you would probably find cinelike-D to be the curve most appropriate for film-looking footage.
