Barn door help

So I got a couple of CowBoyStudios fluorescent 4 tube lights for Christmas. They were used, with crappy tubes, but I also got new hi quality bulbs.
BTW the gold color in the photos is shipping film, the doors are actually silver.
The problem with these lights are the barn doors - they don't stay where placed.
The two hinges per door do not appear to have any means / friction to hold.
I pulled the screws out and added a rubber washer to each, but that still doesn't offer enough friction against the door weight.
Any ideas?

Usually barn doors on florescent lights (like Kino's) are useless for cutting and mainly intended for clipping gels onto.

You can try using a small spring instead of a washer. Some barn doors use that. Poke around in a hardware store (A "real" store like Ace will have drawers of springs). You may need to cut a spring to shorten it, you may need to find a longer bolt, etc. You might want a drop of loctite on the nut to keep it from loosening and falling off.
