Barebones laptop for P2 transfer in field

Will any laptop with a decent-sized hard drive be sufficient for data transfer from a P2 card in the field? Or does P2 file transfer require decent processing power and RAM?

Follow-on Q: What are the minimum specs for a laptop to be used as a monitor AND P2 transfer device?

SEARCH THE FORUM! weve talked a lot about this already.

NO, it does not require tons of power or ram. as long as you have either a pcmcia slot OR a duel adapter (for use with the current trend of express card slots) you'll be set!

many of us are very successfully using 4-5 year old laptops for transfer and basic edit in the field
