Balancing a front heavy rig with 'flippers'

With all the new 35mm "Flipper" adapters, everyone is going to have a very front heavy camera.

How do you balance your front heavy rig on your tripod without having to take a second mortgage for the zacuto stuff ? I am sure pictures of your 'balanced' rig will certainly help every new 'flippers' here.

I say if you want a cheap simple solution buy a second simple baseplate like a cavision or even and indirails. You can then mount this on the rods in front of the camera and adjust it back and forth for perfect balance.

i only have a marshall monitor that can help put more weights on the back end of my rig. Any good way to attach a marshall to a 15mm rods (again, without selling my car for a zacuto?)

I'm using a Bogen Magic arm with superclamp to attach to either the rods or sticks (pending my setup) however with the flip on the LEX now, I'm looking at a smaller noga arm - take one of these and attach it to a 15mm rail block from Cinevate .and voila, for less than $150 you've got a great solution to mount your LCD.

Truthfully, I'd rather find a way to balance it. I was using my DVX with letus handheld for the entirety of yesterday, and i think i did bad bad things to my wrist.

The DvRigPro HD back weight will balance your front heavy setup, The camera plate can be mounted under the rig, and... you can go hand heald !

My answer from another thread on a very similar topic:

The Cinevate rail system has a tripod base plate that is separate from the camera base plate which allows the whole rig to slide back and forth until the right center of balance is achieved.

I researched all the systems out there and ended up choosing his specifically for the reason (not to mention it's very reasonably priced). So far, it has worked perfectly for 3 or 4 different setups I've tried it on. I've got no affiliation with Cinevate other than being a very satisfied customer.

I'll try and post some close up pictures of what I am talking about first chance I get.

Cheers,

Thanks Leo. The Cinevate rails system was designed with adapter use in mind. This means perfect balance is pretty easy to achieve, and we've built in rear rod's projection for shoulder mount use. The extra height offset required for flipped use is also built in, and has been for the last year or so.
