Bad to leave HVX on for long periods?

Ok, so I mainly film sports (skiing/snowboarding and motocross) What I usually do it just leave the camera on between shots, is this alright to do or should I be turning it off whenever possible. I have 4 batteries so I'm not concerned with that I just dont want to loose any scene file settings or miss anything cause the camera is off...

Thanks

if you don't care about the hours that it puts on your counter and running your batteries dead.

You know you can save scene files right?

When I'm hiking out in the field, I always leave my camera on. You never know when you'll come face to face with some wildlife that doesn't understand why it's not supposed to move while you get everything set up.

I've also ran my HVX for all day long time-lapse shots as well. Just plugged it into an outlet and let it run.

You can save your scene files so there's no worry in losing those. But I know I would have missed shots if my camera wasn't ready to go in an instant.

Yeah, I know to save them I just forget sometimes and its not worth missing a shot over. But as long as I know its not bad on the sensors to be on that much then I guess I'll keep to my ways. Thanks guys!

yea the camera maintains all the same settings when you turn it off, maybe if it's in "film cam" slo-mo mode it'll set it back to 24p. But I've never had problems with it forgetting the way it was.

Only thing I've noticed is that the bugger can get pretty hot when left on, but still keeps on ticking. I believe a lesser camera would have crapped out now with all I've put my mine through.. and thankfully never had an issue. Can't say that with shooting tape for 2 years or such.
