BAD TAPES

Recently I ordered fifteen Panasonic MQ tapes from tapestockonline. I was shooting a short with two DVX100's which have only ever used this brand of tape. I used six of these tapes before discovering that they have major problems playing back. When playing back the tape freezes and the deck signals that head cleaning is necessary. Sometimes they will play for a bit with only several stripes (one record head/playback head functioning?) producing an image. Even after the head cleaning notice appears however, another tape from another purchase will play just fine in the deck, without the heads having been cleaned. I have tried these tapes in multiple decks and cameras and as soon as we started using another batch of Panasonic MQ tapes--purchased earlier, the recording/playback was fine. Has anyone ever come across this sort of problem before? Is there any way I can get these tapes to play and salvage what may be an ok recording, or can I assume that it is a bad recording that will not playback? :'(

Re: BAD TAPES

Every once in a while you're going to come across bad batches of tapes, globes, etc. ??? Just return what you can of the rest of the tapes and get your money back. :)
