Bad Playback On Interlaced Monitor - 24P Advanced

hey forum!

i inherited a project shot on the DVX100 in 24p Advanced mode. The problem is that when I playback the captured footage on an interlaced studio monitor, motion is a bit jittery.

it looks fine within Avid....so i'm not sure if the stuff was captured wrong or if this is normal? sorry - i'm completely unexperienced with this camera.

any help appreciated - THANKS.
 
Yeh, that is to be expected. 24pA is not a playback mode, it is a capture mode for 24p editing.

When you are done editing, output the final project in 24p Normal mode, or make a 24p DVD, and the playback will be like any other 24p material.
 
Awesome - that is good news. In Avid it looks much better....but if I frame by frame every fourth frame is interlaced.

Anyway, thanks for the response. I was nervoucs I'd just inheristed a nightmare. =)
