Bad frames in footage!

I noticed these 2 consecutive very bad frames appearing in my footage. It occurred several times over the course of my shoot.
My camera is in very good condition as are the p2 cards. Nothing unusual about the settings or the shoot in any way. Has anyone seen this before?
any ideas what it could be? It was a 2 camera shoot fortunately so I can easily edit around it.

yes late 2012 imac high end specs. FCP 7. It is on the original quicktime files not just in FCP. I wiped the p2 card before I noticed it.

Yep, this is a known problem with macs, that occasionally the transfer of the footage to the computer results in a few corrupted frames. Too bad the footage is gone, because I guarantee you the footage on the cards would have been 100% perfect.

If you're like everyone else, and I bet you are, you have no problem with your camera or your P2 cards. The problem comes in transferring the files from the cards to the computer. And the way to avoid the problem is to use a transferring program that uses error checking and file verification, to guarantee that the files are copied 100% perfectly. You can get something like ShotPut Pro, or use the premium version of Panasonic's P2 Viewer Plus. Either will give you the option of doing a data-verified copy which should prevent this issue from ever happening again.

Never run into this, 6 years with an HVX, always importing into an Imac or MBP. Always use Log and Transfer to import footage. Maybe that has something to do with it?

It isn't related to log & transfer, apparently it is a low-level copy error when working with a FAT32 drive. It is rare, but it has been reported hundreds of times here since tapeless footage started. It's been reported by P2 users and AVCHD users alike. Nobody knows what causes it or why it is so rare; we only know that it does indeed happen and if you are affected by it, the solution is to use a data verified copy.
