Bad Card?

I've had my HMC a few months now, but I haven't had any big projects until now. I have a few shoots coming up these next few months and I want to make sure that everything is working fine.

Well, I shot some footage and I loaded it into Final Cut. During the Log and Transfer process, I looked at the footage and noticed lines in the footage. It looked like a transparent box that went across the center of the screen, making the footage within the box much darker than the footage on the top and bottom of the shot. Also, on other clips, parts of the footage were replaced with green squares that looked like some kind of pixilation. However, I went ahead and logged and transferred the footage and the footage looks fine once transferred. Is this a sign of a bad card? I have two 16GB Panasonic Class 6 cards, and I'm participating in a 48 hour filmmaking competition this weekend. So if we lose the footage, we won't have time to reshoot. Of course, I will use the second card this weekend instead, but does this sound like a card problem or camera problem? Or is it even a problem since the footage imported fine?

I used to shoot on the DVX100, so this tapeless workflow is kind of new to me. I'm used to seeing that error icon that the DVX had when the tape head was dirty or messing up. I didn't receive any warning signs while shooting. Thanks for your help.
