I'm not sure if your guys have covered this but does anyone know of a good backpack for the DVX100 that isnt the size of an army backpack?

Re: Backpack for DVX100?.

I picked up the Lowepro MiniTrekker last week. You have to rearrange the dividers a little bit as its designed for an SLR but I'm liking it so far.  Room for the cam, filters, tapes and a sandwich... perfect :)

Re: Backpack for DVX100?.

Burton makes a really cool one named the zoom.

Re: Backpack for DVX100?.

I've been using the Lowe-Pro Mini-Trekker since I got my DVX and it's a great pack. It looks like a normal daypack and it doesn't have a monster hip belt with a bunch of hardware like some of the other photo packs I've seen. It's extremely well-made and the inside is completely customizable. I've yet to see anything comparable and I'm a total photo bag junkie.

The Burton Zoom pack looks intriguing, but seems to be completely unavailable. Extensive goggleing and froogleing turned up zero in stock. I couldn't even find one on eBay--which means there are none in the known universe :-). Not that I need another bag but where can I find one, Jarred?

Re: Backpack for DVX100?.

one burton camera backpack i saw at our local snow/skate shop was pretty interesting, it opened from the back part. haha took a second for me to figure out what was going on.

i am using a minitrekker right now and find it great.

Re: Backpack for DVX100?.

I just got my DVX yesterday and I also got the portabrace back pack with it. It's really cool, becauseit has a laptop compartment. I have a 15 inch Powerbook (one of the new ones) and it fits like a glove (The old Pismo fits as well), It looks really good and fits the equipment perfectly. I highly recomend it.

Re: Backpack for DVX100?.

I was wondering about these two Lowepro bags:

- Stealth AW II
- CompuTrekker AW

Both look large enough to hold video gear and a laptop such as a 15" Powerbook. The Stealth is intriguing because of its... well stealthiness. Looks like a boring old daypack.

Re: Backpack for DVX100?.

The ComuTrekker is identical to the Mini-Trekker except for the laptop pocket. It's nice, but the pack is starting to get a bit large. Maybe they've changed the interior of the Stealth, but it used to have a weird configuration--not suitable for video gear.

Re: Backpack for DVX100?.

The Tamrac 750 has been a great backpack for me. I even store my ME66 inside. It's light, comfortable and holds lots of accessories. The adjustment I made on it was taking all the dividers and padded the sides and bottom with them to give the camera more protection.

Re: Backpack for DVX100?.

I am workiing on converting a pelican 1510 (the new one for carry-on). There are some hole on the removable fram that i am boring out and putting a removable backpack frame on. So, carry it on, and leave it in the rain...

Re: Backpack for DVX100?.

I got you all beat I have the best bag ever made hands down.

http://www.burton.com/Gravis/FW04/gear/products.asp?productID=6058

this thing is the sh*t. It has a hard shell case in the bottom of the bag the case is padded and every nicely lined with a lint free fabric. there is a pocket for a Dic Man with a head phone jack that runs through the stitching and comes out on the shoulder, i can carry my DVC80, Labtop, mic, 3 batteries and my skate and it is still comfortable. I have to say this is the best bag i have ever own.
the site above has lousy pics but if you look around i am sure you will find better one. I have looked at so many bags trying to find one that would carry all my stuff and this was the nicest one and the best price ... go fig you can still get something really nice and cheap

thanks

Re: Backpack for DVX100?.

Portabrace BK-3 without laptop compartment... The only thing that sucks is that there's really no way to leave an external mic on the camera when you put it away.

Has anybody more recently come up with a great backpack that fits the dvx without removing an external mic like the me64?

i've got a lowepro nature trekker, i dont keep the external mike on it tho. i've heard the new ogio bags are good for the dvx but i'm kinda skeptical of bags made by skate companies. i had that apollo attiba bag and at the bottom it had a ridge that would dig into your lower back and my friend busted his zipper open. but it was cheap, like $45 wholesale. you can find those ogio bags for around $130 on ebay.

Try looking at backpacks for skateboards. Mine has extra pockets for small items like tapes, batteries and w/a adapters. Best of all the skateboard straps hold my tripod very nicely.

do you own that bag? its looks really good but it kinda looks a little thin in some places and wouldnt be very sturdy. i've been wanting to talk to someone that has one. i think the bag looks great but skate company bags threw me off with that damn attiba apolo bag.

I dont own one, but a friend of mine does. He uses it for his VX2000 and the bag is very sturdy. Has lots of extra compartments for accesories.

burton zoom

I just ordered the Burton Zoom (black) from REI.com. It's backordered because Burton only makes a limited amount. I contacted Burton, and it's being re-released on Jan 16th, 2007.
