I'd say the reason there's not been a response is because there really aren't any viable solutions.
A camera with the 35mm adapter, lens, and rods assembled really makes the whole thing bulky beyond what backpacks are designed to hold. That, and having your rig assembled and in a backpack just seems like a bad idea... without rigid, padded storage, too much risk of damage to the 35mm adapter and mounting threads.
The best way to transport and protect an assembled rig is in a Pelican or Storm case.
