Hey everybody-
This is my first post, but I've culled these forums for a long time for lots of really helpful information. Its a great community!
My question is this: I have 15 hours of 24PA footage on tape, shot with the DVX-100B. I'd like to back all of this up before I start editing. I wanted to know if there is a best way to go about this.
Should I make duplicates of all the tapes by hooking my DVX up to a miniDV deck, like Panasonic's AG-DV2500? If so, are there issues with the 24PA encoding that I should be aware of?
Would it be better to go ahead and capture all of the footage onto my LaCie firewire drive, then make duplicate tapes from the digitized footage?
Finally, are there particular risks (to my tapes or my camera) associated with using my DVX as an input-output device, and if so, is a miniDV VTR the recommended alternative?
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Joe K.
