Looking forward to getting a 16gb card as soon as they're available, but wondering how to back them up to disc.
Till now, I've been shooting to a 4 GB card, which of course easily fits on a single-sided dvd for back-up. I find that making disc images of the p2 card contents during transfer from the card to my mac is a more robust solution for off-loading footage than by just copying the footage and the "lastclip" file to my hard drive.
Obviously, with 16 gb cards, making a disc image will work for transfer from card to computer, but I won't be able to fit a 16 gb disc image on a dvd, single or double-sided. So when copying footage from my hard drive to a back-up dvd, what do I need to do? Just copy half the footage to one dvd, and half to another? And the lastclip file to both?
