Background of my shot is "breathing?"

I had the same issues except my dvx would loose focus every like ten seconds; it was really cold and lights were on everywhere i suspect it was the lighting causing some sort of effect

just my 2 cent would think that it has something to do with over exsposed light and what setting of knee .might the camera trying to deal with the light continually making changes that only look like focus trouble.

not likely as i have used it in different lighting conditions...both low light and bright sunny (just after sunrise) to overcast conditiions(just awhile ago). In auto focus mode it trembles alot and then it settles after a while IF the camera stops moving. And its not an "in and out "of focus kind of thing becuz we all know how that looks. its trembling/shaking alot. As soon as i click it to manual focus, instantly stops. Oh and this is just in progressive mode. I duno bout the knee thing as i have only just gotten the camera and am not 2 familiar with what the scene file settings change even though i have been messing with them. i'll try it out

Has anyone noticed this before or had this problem?

I just shot an interview with the subject about 20 feet from a brick wall and part of a window as the background of the shot. When we were editing the video, we noticed that the window and parts of the brick seemed to be going in and out of focus.

Looking at it more closely, they weren't really going in and out of focus, it just seems like it at first glance- but they were more like pulsating or shifting around. Almost as if the background was artifacting as if it were moving, but it was a static shot.

I was on a tripod with the focus set to manual, and the subject remained in focus and not shifting around like the window and the bricks- so I don't think it was a lens/focus searching issue.

Does this seem like an in-camera issue, or an uploading issue? It was captured and edited in Final Cut Pro.

Any ideas for troubleshooting or if anyone else has had this problem would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

this also happened to my shots before. have you tried turning off the skin detail on the menu settings?
