Hello,

I actually do not know what's the name of the effect and I have been searching endlessly for the answer on how to do this effect. I am not quite sure if this is the right forum to ask and I did post the same posting in the effects forum.

I am about to shoot music video soon and one of the effect that I want to incorporate in the music video is where this singer is walking in the middle of a busy crowd in slow motion but the crown around him moves faster. I can't find the example to this but I saw one indonesian director did this in his commercial.

Kindly refer to the link that I provide below.

Would really appreciate if someone could help me with this one...Thanks

By the way I am a FCP 6 user.

This requires some compositing, green screen or similar.

In order to shoot the singer for slow-mo playback with real time lip sync, you must shoot to a music track that has been sped up so that when you slow the video down it matches the original music speed.

For the background, you're taking real-time footage and speeding it up. You can't shoot for slow-mo and fast-mo at the same time. So you shoot the background, and then shoot the singer on a green screen, and then composite them together.

Thank you C2V...have you seen the link that I gave you...it just seems so real...sorry for my lack knowledge in this..i slowed down the video in that link and I saw shadows of that men walking slowly forward on the floor...

Shadows can be painted, and very detailed compositing can be very convincing.

The other possibility:

Lock the camera down, shoot the room with the man walking, then the room with the background, and use a very careful garbage matte to composite the two shots together. Easier and potentially cleaner than green screen.

Hmmm...i think your suggestion on the second option might do the magic....cuz when i looked at the video..the camera did not move at all....it's locked down
