Back focus issue?

Please forgive this "vicarious" post. A friend has an HMC150 and is complaining about focus shift during a zoom. She said that she has seen other people having the same issue, her rationale for asking someone else to pony up a grand for an 8+ inch monitor, mount, and hood (I have a certain responsibility relating to that); she says that pulling focus on moving shots is impossible using either the eye piece or built-in LCD.

She also wants a 35mm adapter, something which I have seen benefits from the higher-res monitor.

Since my searches here and elsewhere find no mention of focus-shift or back-focus issues per se, if you have had such problems, I'd like to know.

Thanks.

Focusing on the HMC150 could be challenging specially on moving shots... I really wish panasonic would make cameras with better built-in LCD's, as far as i know the weak-link on the HMC150 is the LCD... Low Res and with a horrible angle of view. REALLY PANASONIC? DOES IT REALLY COST THAT MUCH MORE?

The "focus assist" is ok, but nothing beats having a Nice, Bigger/Higher Res LCD like the ones found on Sony!!!

For my kind of work is been really challenging trying to get a SHARP shot, even when you think you're in focus YOU are NOT!

As far as the "focus shift" i haven't seen it, nor have i looked for it (maybe is there)
But if it was i would have caught it (I think)

Don't get me wrong, I love the camera... I just wish Panasonic would invest more money/resources for a better LCD instead of trying to give you "focus assist" and "Wave Form Monitor" witch are great tools. but tools you wouldn't need so much if you had a better LCD

I MISS MY SONY's LCD =( ...(and that wasn't as nice as the new sony ones)

MadHMC150, it's funny that you mention it... i was thinking of this option as well (manhattan lcd), i might just rig it on a way that it's always on the side of the camera. while handheld, tripod, shoulder support (Always on)... all to fix an issue that should have been corrected by panasonic while testing and designing this cam. (I would have gladly pay more money for my HMC150 with a better built-in LCD)
