Back Focus Issue / Taking Apart DVX

Has anyone here ever had issues with their backfocus on the DVX100B? I've been researching it for a while and am trying to figure out the best way to tackle it.

I was pretty close to taking the housing off and seeing if I could set it manually with a backfocus chart somehow, but thought better of that plan :)

I did use the reset button and I think that may have solved the problem somewhat, Im going to take it into studio this week and give it a good test-run.

But on the taking apart subject, has anyone ever taken apart a DVX? Any idea how an engineer would reset the back focus?

the backfocus is essentially what keeps your focus when you zoom into your subject, focus, and then zoom back out. when the back focus is off, you will zoom in, focus, and when you zoom back out to wide again, your subject is out of focus.

on higher end cameras, the backfocus is adjustable, on the dvx it is internal and has to be serviced by panasonic or somewhere else. this can cost 200 - 500 dollars (cdn)

my question was whether I could open up the housing on my dvx and simply adjust it manually with a backfocus chart

to update, and for anyone who painstakingly searched online for answers to this question and couldn't find any, I simply used the soft reset button on the DVX and it has re-calibrated my back focus. I assume that depending on the cause of your issue this will produce different results, and may in fact have to be sent in. but certainly try resetting and checking your back focus on a back focus chart before doing so
