For a project in the summer, I've been offered the use of a nice 50x Canon box lens to fit to my JVC. Another colleague has a B4 adaptor that I've used a few times on a B4 lens I have, and the results are pretty good. I'm happy with the reduction in field angle due to the smaller sensor, and I can manage the physical mounting side of things.
I need to have a camera a fair way away from a stage for an outside event - with output going to on stage screens for IMAG. I've (I think) got another loan on a head and legs big enough to cope, although a little old. I've also got focus and zoom demands.
Is there anything else I need to think of that I have forgotten about? I've used them before, but have never set them up, or had to tweak anything. The JVC on my old Betacam lens worked well, despite it not being HD tagged - I'm hoping that the same will apply to the box lens, on a head to foot shot of a guy playing guitar on a stage 30 seat rows away! I'm wondering about power and the iris control?
