Still deciding if Adorama is the right place to go. :undecided I had the Sagemax warranty on my HPX170, wanted to get it again for the AF. When I asked the guy on the phone, he said "yes I can give you the Sagemax warranty", he made a quote on the phone, and was VERY eager to do the transaction right away... Which I did not do. :Drogar-SunGlass(DBG

He emailed me the quote... and it is not Sagemax , but "Mack" that provide the additional warranty...

Anybody are familiar with them.

:kali: -1 for Adorama to aggressively hurry me in this purchase. But they are cheaper, that is a fact...

Thank you!

I wouldn't discourage anyone from acquiring extra protection, but . . .
The AF-100 comes with an additional 3 years (total of 4) warranty so long as you register it online with Panasonic.

So my question is, what exactly is the benefit to a Sagemax or Mack warranty on this camera?

well the benefit is let's say you drop the camera, somebody abuses it in a way that something expensive needs to be replaced.... sagemax takes care of it, including the shipping fees...

Oh, and the 3 years warranty of Panasonic is NOT transferable, according to what I have read... Sagemax is....

Yes, Sagemax is transferable and covers 'all type's' of accidental damage, from water to dust to impact, etc.

I've bought their coverage for all my high ticket equipment but fortunately have never needed to make a claim. The pro-video sales guys at B&H have told me of numerous specific instances where "pro-customers" were issued $5K+ checks from Sagemax when the camera was not repairable. The contracts state they have to repair or reimburse in 2 weeks max time.

-2 for whoever you spoke to in the sales team....... (not for everyone at Adorama, some of us are on the ball!)

Could you please email me as I can't ID your order from your posting so we can identify the member of staff you spoke to, and ensure he receives any necessary training updates: Helen@adorama.com Any time you receive less than 100% from any Adorama employee, please do let me know. We are committed to improving every aspect of the service we offer and really appreciate our customers' feedback and support in order to do this.
