B&H Lowers HVX200 Price To $5499.95

Actually, their NAB special was around $5700 with 1 4gb P2 card plus a case. They claimed they would honor NAB prices until May 7, so worth a call.

Excellent -- looks like they finally got some stock, and now they're competing. That $5700 with 1 card and case is very competitive. Most places are $5300+ for just the camera, so B&H looks like they came out punching.
 
The 4GB card for $600 kind of speaks to the jumpiness of certain crowds as well, don't you think? A steady downward run.
 
I purchased the B&H package today for 5744.95 (camera and 4G card + case) Must give NAB code over the phone. I owe a thanks to you all for the information you share, as I have spent far too much time loitering on this site over the past year. Having little technical experience, I never would have had the confidence to buy this camera without what I have learned and hope to continue to learn from this community.

So glad you got the camera at that great price and sorry that I was $44.95 off in my recollection. Sometimes I think these B&H people follow my grandfather's business plan which, he always said, was "to lose a little bit on each sale but make it up in the volume."

Hey All!

Just got confirmation that my HVX shipped from B&H. I think I nabbed the last one they had in stock. Thanks to this thread I was able to adjust my order and get the better deal. I've been devouring posts on this site for ages, and really appreciate all of the quality info from everyone. I'm excited to finally start shooting with this camera and will be putting it to work on my first feature in June!

Thanks to everyone out there! Sure I'll be hitting you all up with questions, and hopefully able to contribute some of my own feedback/experiences/mindblowing footage real soon.

Well, they're out sadly (most likely because of the price drop). I called at 7:00 yesterday, just as they were closing, and they had 50 left. I waited to make sure my Credit Card could cover it and called again at 4:30 today to find that all 50 were gone :(

They said they'll hopefully have some more in 2-4 weeks. Thankfully, if you order it on back order now, you can still get the NAB discount.
