B cam for 700?

Anyone have any suggestions or opinons on an affordable/functional B cam for the fs700? Looking for some extra lattitude when shooting one man corporate interviews with easy set-up and operation.

Thoughts?

I use Fs700 as a main camera and A77 as B camera for interviews.

I have an Le-ea2 adaptor so i use the same lens' from the A77 on the FS700.
HD 1920x1080 up to 50p (or 60p depending on your location)
Swivel screen (great when i am operating the FS700, I turn the A77 screen towards me so i can see both screens during interviews)
I put a rode videomic pro on the A77 for sound sync (the sound is not good enough to use on it's own on the A77)
The A77 is a couple of years old now so you can find them relatively cheap.
Same file system and uses same type of SD cards as the FS700.

The only bad thing is that it has A-mount. But the kit lens it comes with is actually quite good (16-50mm f.2.8) 90% of the time i use this lens as the B-cam lens. Get the adaptor to use it on the Fs700 and it works out ok as a decent f2.8 mid zoom on the FS700 with really good auto focus if you need it, never used AF though so not sure how good it really is.

It's also a very good stills camera.

It's not the most popular camera out there but if you can get around the a-mount it's way better INHO than a lot of mid range circa 2011 canon cameras out there.

Other possible thoughts would be the up coming BM pocket camera?? Might open up a range of issues and the fact you will need to buy new media to record to though. Depends what your budget is really?

Good luck on your search.

Below is a pic during an interview with the both cameras. On this setup I had both cameras relatively close together but on occasions when they aren't so close you can imagine how handy the swivel screen on teh A77 is.

I would think the blackmagic pocket cam would be a great b cam especially with speed booster. You could share SD cards as well.

I use a VG20. Same emount system and no artificial restrictions on clip limit like the stills cameras have. It can use the
same adapters (Sony LA-EA2 for autofocus, Metabones for Canon EF and Metabones speedbooster for full frame look),
same cards and so on. Plus it has a good built in mic, and they are cheap since they are discontinued. The VG20 doubles
as a nice still cam for occasional stills as well (16 megapixel pictures and even takes RAW stills).

I still have my GH2 from pre-FS700 times but I find it hard or at least too much
work to match these two cameras. I will try with a BMD Pocket as soon as it arrives.

Hacked GH2. Just got mine and love it. -Anthony

may I ask which set up you are running on both to match them?
I tried that too and as my skills as colorist are at a low level I found
it hard to match these two cameras. I am always already happy
if I succed in better FS700 skin tones

On a side note, does anyone know if you will be able to record both the FS700 and the BMPC into the Odyssey 7Q simultaneously using the SDI from FS700 and HDMI from BMPC? Would seem like a perfect B Cam setup to me.
