Azden shotgun mic "loose" in adapter

I realize there should be some movement, but it's loose! Not to the point that it's going to fall out, but there is a lot of movement. Is there another adapter that will hold it a bit more snug? Or something I can add to the mic so it fits better? I would use the hot shoe mount but I have my light there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

mines a little loose also and ive never had problems with it, it moves a little but not enought to be annoying i use audi technica thats the shot gun mic i have but i guess if all fails u could use electircal tape around ur mic wear ur gonna mount it on the adapter u wouldnt even see it

I have a Canon A1 also which has a bizarre mixc mount thats too big for anything. I use a small piece of soft foam around the mic, squish it in and tighten the screw. I wouldnt tape it as that will basically cause any sound on the cam, fingers moving etc to go through the mic as well.
