Azden SGM-1X Shotgun Mic Problem

Hi, I'm new to this forum and i just had a question.

I have paired my DVX100B with an Azden SGM-1X shotgun mic and I recently noticed a problem that results in a crackling noise in the footage that I get. All of my connections are fine and the input locations are correct. I just don't know why this crackling is occuring. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried a new cable or a new battery?
 
Yes, it could be the cable. In my first film we had a lot of issues because somehow the cable got broken (inside) and there what no way to tell. At one point all of our sound was coming through the camera mic. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't good either. The Azden is a great mic, I just suggested it to someone and I have an SGM-1X myself and used it with the original DVX100.
