This new wireless lav system has internal batteries and last only 300 cicles, after that what, is the system gone, or what ?

Where do you see documentation about 300 charge cycles? For some reason Azden's website isn't loading today, at least on my computer, and none of the retailers specify that limitation.

I will say, though, that Azden has never been the first (second, third, fourth... ) choice for wireless mics in the professional world.

Thanks. I missed that the first time.

Sheesh... what a crappy design. If you look at "Batteries & Power" in the accessories, it's all external USB battery packs (read: added bulk and weight, and a cable that can be accidentally yanked mid-take). That's assuming that the device can be powered by an external USB brick once the internal is shot, as opposed to only charged off the USB batteries.

Or maybe Azden is setting a new trend by actually admitting up-front that this is disposable technology.

Nobody else actually shows the expected life-cycles for internal rechargeable batteries.
It seems within the realm of possibility that 300 cycles is the average for those kind of gadgets.

You can typically open the gadget and replace the battery.

But some really cheap gear (which Azden is an excellent example) probably has glued-together cases.
So you would have to cut the case open to get to the batteries.

As Alex said, Azden pretty much DEFINES what "bottom of the barrel" means.

If that is not a common idiom in your native language...
