Sorry, I meant to give an update but never got around to it. I will be getting the final kit next week. There were a few unavoidable delays but it should all be sorted out soon. I'm very eagerly waiting for it as well and will do a test on it and get back to you guys as soon as I can. Thanks for being patient.

so jade what's it looking like buddy? is it worth the $$$ or not? any test footage?

if they still haven't sent your package by now nevermind. i wouldnt want to drop that kind of cash on something that takes that long to deliver anyway.

sorry for the persistance, just trying to weigh down some options before i start shooting in November.

Hi Mickey,

Sorry, I still haven't got the kit yet. To be fair to Todd, he's running into some supply problems at the moment. The dolly wheels shipment that he was expecting has been delayed and it's really not his fault. I have a big project coming up in October as well and I'm confident that I'll get the kit in time for it.

Just as an an example of Todd's commitment to his customer, when UPS lost the last dolly kit I ordered from him, he had another kit showed up at my door two days later right in time for my next shoot.
 
UPDATE: Todd has shipped the dolly and I'll be receiving it this Friday. YAY! I'll take it out for a spin on Saturday and hopefully be back with a report early next week.
 
i went ahead and ordered last week and he said it would be here today or tomorrow. hopefully i'll be able to take mine out for a spin this weekend too!
 
Got it today!!

Just from some preliminary testings in my apartment, I'm extremely impressed. This thing is as smooth as silk!! I was able to get amazing tracking shot literally 10 minutes after I set it up.

I'll be able to take it outdoor and put it to the test later today. Hopefully will be back with reports and footage today or tmr!
 
You are more patient than I could be. Two months of waiting.

Look forward to seeing some footage and hearing more about your experience.
 
yea apparently there was an issue with the shipping for my delivery. i can't wait two months thas for sure. too many other options out there. i'll post some footage as soon as i get it in.

But the short answer to your question is "YES, it works GREAT!" I've gotten some unbelievably cool shot with this thing and it really helped add production values to my last film.

Please note that the footage I post was taken the day I got it so some of the shots were a bit jerky. I've since gotten MUCH better footage and am in the process of putting together a better demo to show what this thing can really do.
