AWB, Auto Focus, Iris, Doesn't Work in DVX100???

I have the dvx 100 and I can't seem to get the autofocus to respond. I'm trying to get the basic settings up on the camera (i purchased it from someone after having it checked over by a professional).

When I try to do an AWB, nothing appears on the screen, and when I press the iris button, nothing happens.

Perhaps the camera is set in some type of mode that won't allow me to use those settings, but I've been racking my brain. I spent 3 hours following the directions in my manual on white balancing, but nothing happens.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Sounds like you pushed the "auto" button. Make sure you're not in auto mode.

On an original DVX, autofocus doesn't work in 24p or 30p modes.

looks like the auto focus works, but now the auto white balance button doesn't respond at all. Absolutely nothing happens, too include the iris button. It's almost like everything on the front side of that camera isn't enabled.

I have MF77 in the top right of the lcd screen, nothing happens.

I'm hoping I didn't get ripped off with a broken camera :embarasse

by the way, do u have your book in a pdf downloadable version?

No download possible. But if you're near Atlanta it'd only take a day or two to get it.

You're sure the "auto" button is turned off? Hmmm. Not sure what the problem would be.

Shucks... I'll order it Monday when I get to the office :-)

I think "auto" is off... could u let me know which "auto" you're talking about. I see many auto options from the menu, and should "all" of them be off?

Sorry for all the questions -- I'm totally new to this camera.
