I know I said 'entirely', but the more discerning amongst you will notice about 5 seconds of super slomo, and those were shot with the FS700, but the other 10:36 were all A7s :)

Enjoy!

Nice color grading and sweet camera movements. Didnt quite follow the plot line tho so i will have to view it again later.

Good work tho

Thanks for the kind words, I know there are issues with the plot line and I know they're entirely my own fault, no excuses. It's only my second narrative short, so I still have a lot to learn.

Definitely work to be proud of and the fact your second short has made so many selections is definitely reason to be proud. As with all shorts its harder to establish characters and back stories but a great trick for a thriller like yours is to have the camera pan to some type of revealing object or thing on the walls. For instance, as you're having the character explore his surroundings he passes by a newspaper article mounted on the wall or on a desk/floor which he doesn't perceive or pay any mind to, but the camera locks onto it so the headline is legible for a brief moment as your character trails off screen left.

What type of lights did you utilize for the majority of the production?

We used mainly existing lights (fluorescent ceiling lights) and then a couple of Scorpion single-point LED lights for the dramatic effects, that's it. Good tip on exposition, thanks :)

I can't put the sound on my macbook at the moment but will be able to later and have a proper watch. Just flicking through I can say it's fantastic camera work and the best A7s footage I have seen to date. What colour profile did you use and did you use an external recorder? As far as the colour goes I know I just need to keep practicing. Congrats.

Wow, thanks so much, I don't think it's the best by any means, but I am quite satisfied with the way it looks. I was using no PP on this shoot, just the 'Autumn Leaves' preset. No external recorder, all in camera codec, professionally graded and it seemed to hold up fairly well. The sound design and music are both done by professionals as well, and I think the sound adds quite a bit :) hope you get a chance to listen with good speakers sometime, I think you'll like it...

Also, I believe that all of the 'night' scenes were shot at ISO 5000, so you can see how it works pretty well even that high, we didn't want to take it higher than that, so if it started to get too dark we'd add a little light in where we could.
