AW-HS50 Switcher

Is anybody else here using this? Are there any other forums more focused on this kind of gear?

I have had one of these since they first came out and I really love it.

But I just completed a wireless tally light system which I needed to use for a big production this week.
And when I went to connect it to the switcher, I discovered that NONE of the functions of the "TALLY/GPI" connector work!
None of the contact-closure inputs work. And NONE of the tally outputs work, either.
Except, during power-up, the Tally #1 output is activated (pulled to ground with a transistor) very briefly.
Otherwise, that connector is COMPLETELY USELESS and I am extraordinarily bummed about this.
Does this connector work on OTHER people's units? Am I the only one with this problem?

I have access to one, but have only used it on one shoot.

We didn't even try to use tally lights. We did have a problem using embedded audio from the cameras and trying to turn off audio follow video in the switcher.

I know of two HS50 owners who use tally functions. Have to be careful not to burn out circuit. Very low milliamp tolerance. We burned out our HS410 tally circuit.
