Avoid Bexel on Ebay!

I bought a 2nd hand sony ecm-77b lavalier, listed as being fully tested by their engineers and working perfectly.. it arrived late but stupidly i didnt check it was working within their generous 3 day returns period :(

anyway it had an extremely low almost inaudible input level.. just today received a replacement capsule which cost me around e150 which solved the problem.

It was clearly knowingly sold broken, theyre a big rental house of av gear so anybody could have realised it was faulty.

Watch out!

I bought an IFB receiver from them and was out of town when it arrived, so I missed the return window as well. The headphone jack was loose and the gasket around it cracked, no mention of this in the ad. I brought it up and never got a response. Back at Lectrosonics getting fixed up. Should have just bought a new one.

Caveat emptor.

Lovely ebay right now has given lots of power to the buyer. So if you get something that isn't as described & paid with PayPal, you have a good deal amount of bargaining power.

I have won two auctions from Bexel on ebay & left positive feedback for both. One (a Storm case) when fine, the other was a used Lectro unit that after the auction they realized the wrong freq was put into the listing. They didn't come to my house & serve me breakfast in bed, but in the end things worked out, even though it took a few e-mails back & forth.

I've bought from before (only last week wityh an AJA box) and a big-tickket DVCPRO50 camera a while back and I had no problems. Joyce in used sales is very professional and a fast communicator. Although you had a bad experience I would recommend them my own personal experience.
