Hi. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I should letterbox in avid? Making a letterbox title seems too time consuming. Should I just run the footage through After effects, and do the letterbox there, or not.

Depends on what you are trying to do and deliver? Is your footage anamorphic 16:9 or HD 16:9? Is it indended for DVD or other? If making a DVD, then the encoder is set to flag the anamorphic signal and the player does the appropriate letterbox or not depending on the monitor attached and what the settings are in the DVD player itself.
The footage is actually 4x3 dvx100 footage, and I am trying to make it widescreen. No anamorphic stuff involved. Im guessing the easiest way to do it is to just run it through AE, but i would like to know if I can do it directly in Avid.
