I still don't see pulldown removal for 1080p file-based workflows. Someone wake me when that happens. :)

Anybody Else Having Problems With Latest?

I was working fine in 5.4 but when I upgraded, Avid would no longer load, but hangup when loading Audio. Sometimes Avid would load, and sometimes, not, and only after I reinstalled the program. I have just ordered two more gigs of ram for my Mac Pro, hoping this will solve the problem.
 
Does it give you an error message? If not, on one of those times that you actually make it into Avid, go to the Console and see if that gives any information that will be helpful.

This sounds like a problem that will not be cured by more RAM.

Xpress Pro 5.7.5 and QT

On a macbook pro: repair file permissions (Disk Utility) on the drive where you installed Avid first, then re-install the 5.7.5 update, then repair file permissions again. It works great ( I have a mac book pro 2.4 with 4GB RAM, 10.4.10 OS X)

PROBLEM: QuickTime 7.2 doesn't play MXF files (1920 1080i DVCproHD) exported in the Avid DV 100 codec properly even though the Avidd1Codec.component is in the QT library! I can't get things exported in Meridien to even show image (just white, once again despite the QT "component" being there) I'd like to able to do a fast export using the dv100 codec and see it in QT. And QTref isn't working, either!

anybody know why?
