I have no idea. Could be a million different reasons why your Marquee is crashing. I suppose you could try v5.7.2 and maybe it will solve the problem.

Transfer problems aghhh!!!

Transfer problems aghhh!!!

Just upgraded from 5.2 to 5.7 and it doesn't see my old projects in the projects bin. I can see them in the old app. but Avid won't grab them or even see them if i redirect to that folder??

Anyone have this problem - i need a fix fast. Looking through the avid forms - needle in a haystack. I will call them this week but was hoping someone here knows the fix.

Thanks
Nick

With Avid Xpress Pro HD v5.5 and up, they changed the default location of the Avid Projects folder. I just moved my old projects into the new folder and they work fine.

Projects are missing after upgrade

Description The default location for projects has moved in the x.5 releases. Other Products Avid Media Composer (software), Avid Xpress Studio, [more...]Avid Media Composer (software), Avid Xpress Studio, Avid Xpress Pro HD, Avid NewsCutter Adrenaline, Avid Symphony Nitris, Avid Xpress Pro

The default location of the Avid Projects folder has changed for the x.5 release. Avid now utilizes your computer's security settings to organize your projects.

PC:
C:\Documents and Settings\(Login Name)\My Documents\Avid Projects
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Shared Projects

Mac:
Users – (Login Name) – Documents – Avid Projects
Users – Shared – MediaComposer – Shared Avid Projects

While you can move your old projects into the new Avid Projects folders on the OS level, this could cause permissions issues and make your projects invisible to the Avid. It is recommended that you use the External option in your Select a Project window to navigate to the current location of your old projects.

Looks like there are some Marquee fixes, if you are on Mac.

(Macintosh only) Installing certain AVX plug-ins on your system might have caused the Avid Marquee title tool to crash on startup. Avid continues to work on finding a fix for this issue. In the meantime, use the following workaround that allows you to open the Marquee title tool. This workaround turns off the scripting functionality inside Marquee.

1. Close the Avid editing application.
2. Create a text file and name it NoScripting.txt. (It does not matter what is in the text file.)
3. Ctrl + click the Avid editing application icon to access the context menu.
4. Select Show Package Contents.
5. Double-click the Contents folder
6. Double-click the PlugIns folder
7. Place the text file that you created in step 1 in the Plugins folder.

Now Marquee should launch from the editor, but you will not have the scripting functionality."
