Avid XPress pro HD playback

Hi there:
Finally got Avid to work on my system.

I took a class three years ago and I realize now I don't remember much about how to use it!

I import footage, just NTSC DV25, and I can scrub the footage and it works fine but when I try to play it, only the audio plays and the image doesn't move.

Any idea how to fix that?

Thanks,

MIKE

My System:
Dell Precision 650 workstation with dual 3.2 Xeon processors, 4 Gigs of RAM an Nvidia QuadroFX 3000 card with 256 Megs of RAM.

I've got the newest drivers on the Vid card. Newer than the certified ones. Think that's the problem?

Very well could be. It's an easy thing to check. If you're willing to roll back, post afterwards and let us know if that worked.

Also, make sure no other programs are tying up quicktime. For example: If I have Itunes running and go to play my video, it won't play. I have to shut down Itunes, then shut down Avid, and then go back into Avid, then it'll work.

When your trying the Do the Playback, does it flash a White border? if so.. just arrange the windows(Bin, Sequence, Etc...) so no window overlaps eachother.
