Avid Xpress Pro HD and 1080 file format

The more I learn the less I know. I thought I was really getting all this...and then I come across another BASIC aspect I still understand. Like, does the DVX100A shoot 1080p? I'm not sure what 1080p is, but I think it's HD...I think. Reason I ask is that Avid Xpress Pro HD has a project format option for 23.976 NTSC projects and 1080p/23.976 projects. I'm assuming I'm correct in using the 23.976 NTSC project format for footage filmed in the DVX100A in 24P Advanced.
 
You are correct in using 23.976 NTSC.

1080p is HD footage and can be captured at the 23.976 frame rate.
