There are lots of new features. A couple that HVX users should be aware of are these:
  • Mac Pro support: The Avid Media Composer and Avid Xpress Pro editing applications are now available for the Mac Pro systems.
  • 720p/50 Support: Avid editing applications now support the 720p/50 format.
  • Panasonic® P2 Workflow Improvements: You can now copy your P2 card to a FireWire Drive or network drive, import clips and media directory from the P2 card, or write your sequence back to the P2 card.
  • Scrolling Timeline: You can have the Timeline scroll over the position indicator while you play a sequence.
Like I said, plenty more, but many will find these beneficial.

Yeah, but no 720p /25 support, no HDV Support for JVC Camera.

They charge $49 for this 5.x Upgrade (from 5.6).

But I don´t understand, why 5.7: I expected Avid is going to release Xpress Pro 6 at NAB, but it seems far away when they release 5.7 now ?
