Avid Xpress Pro 5.7 35mm Adapter flipped workflow

I'm trying to find an efficient way to import P2 MXF files that have been shot using a 35mm adapter (Brevis) and are thus inverted and reversed into Avid for editing.

Ideally, I'd like to import the inverted clip, apply the flip-flop effect, and save the clip as a usable MXF file, not as a sequence. Every export I've tried (QT Ref, QT movie, etc) takes a long time to export AND a long time to re-import.

Has anyone found a way to efficiently flip clips and import the product as right-side-up clips? What kind of workflows do you use for inverted P2 clips?

Thanks

I keep a flip effect on a top track while editing and use the clips reversed until I need to render them for the final output.

So when you're setting in and out points on a clip-- are you adjusting with the trim roller on the timeline? Is there an export format (OMF or MXF) that Avid can import quickly and treat as a clip?

I feel your pain, brother. I have long wished there was an easy solution to this. I also use a Brevis with MXF files.

It would be so awesome . . . let me repeat . . . it would be SO AWESOME if Avid gave us a "flip-flop" button in the source footage window simply to view our acquired clips from 35mm adapters.
