Figured out problem. when my offloader copied the files he did something weird and moved the files in the contents file out of it into the master file. I don't know why. I placed them back in where they go and voila.
no longer a problem.
I have some p2 card footage on my hard drive, copied from p2 cards in the field using hvx - laptop - usb external drive . Neither avid nor p2 viewer will open these files. it says that the file is not a p2 card file. if I look at the drive the folder looks correct and there are mxf files in the proper places. what am I doing wrong? I have imported cards with a reader in my pc (pcmcia slot on front of tower) and used a firestore drive with no problems in the past but I'm having issues here. did I do something wrong? I have copied it to my pc's internal drive and cannot access it their either.
