I'm going to be editing with AVID and I'm wondering if I can shoot 24PA instead of regular 24p; in other words, can I edit on a 24FPS timeline instead of 30fps timeline so that I can shoot in 24pA with AVID? I know some NLEs don't offer editing in 24fps timeline.
Also, would anyone recommend the other editing systems over AVID? I have a PC; who recommends that I should edit with Vegas, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut instead and what are the reasons?
Also, can I use AVID to help capture directly to my laptop on location? I know Premiere Pro allows me to record directly to my hard drive, but I'm hoping AVID also has this capability.
