Avid Symphony and DS rates in LA

We have a project coming up that will probably need to be finished in LA (we are based in London). Can anyone tell me from experience what sort of rates post houses are charging for finishing on Symphony and DS? Rate cards are one thing but I'm interested in what people are actually paying based on something like a 6-10 day finish.

Thanks!

Depends on the project too. What you should do is call around a few post houses in Los Angeles. They'l probably ask you a run of questions such as..

1) how long is the final edit
2) what is the project frame rate and raster
3) what kind of work do you need done to it, color? any digital painting for removal of objects, any green screen or compositing work needed? ect ect. Let them know any and all things. If you don't something might slip through and cost you a lot of time and money.
4) what is the final delivery on (meaning what do you need your project mastered to? D5 HDcamSR ect.

Thank you for your thoughts!

Can you suggest/recommend any post houses in LA?\

This is a feature doc (approx 80mins duration) shot 1080/24p with little or no effects. There will need to be a proper grade from log media, mastering to SR at 23.98fps and SD deliverables on DigiBeta 525/60. Symphony would be more than adequate for the picture finish as long as there is access to something like DaVinci or Baselight for the grade. Given the type of project, there is no need for any kind of extensive fx work whatsoever. Do you know of any long-form doc finishing specialists?
