Avid sucks

Guys... I didn't mean to start a fight, I was just expressing my self after my avid system crashed and my bin locked up, loosing everything I worked on... and now my firewire won't work on HD.
 
Saying Avid sucks, and not knowing the product well is insane. No one benefits in this forum with this type of approach.
 
Just curious why one of the mods didn't delete this post shortly after it was made. Isn't this a classic example of trolling? If not, maybe I need to have it explained to me again.

You all need to go out and find a date! This is insane go edit with what your comfortable with!
 
I use FCP, because for a low price it does everything I need and more.

I have used other NLE's but prefer FCP's interface, especially above Avid's.

I hate people who are too blinkered to see that there are alternatives to Avid. Saying it is industry standard is no excuse. We dictate to our tools! Don't let a tool dictate to you! This is not a rant about anyone on here, but I guy I work with by the way.
 
I do know the program well, I have been using the program for about 4 years and this is not the first time that it has crash on me, causing me to lose everything ... maybey you should read my post.... saying that it crashes alot from my knowledge at work and at home it is known to crash

if it has not crashed on you IT WILL HAPPON

I used to be pro avid till they got so out of control with their costly upgrades that I decided to spend my money more on hardware equipment that will better enhance my editing room. I switched to Vegas and with it's free upgrades and lack of having numerous crashes became a no brainer what to use. And to boot it has the best audio choices out of all the other NLE's. Now it is a matter of time when Vegas will support DVCPRO-HD format. Right now they chose to fix any existing bugs in the new 6.0 version and that the folks at Sony have their priority straight. With the last intro at NAB from versions 5 to 6, Vegas is starting to be a real competitor for Avid and Premiere users to take notice.

Umm, I actually did PM one of the mods three minutes after the first post in this
thread. I'll give you a hint: It was the guy that uses Vegas! (pick one out of four)

I don'ty have the right to delete posts... as I said in my posts, everyone uses the system of their choice based on their own needs. There is no reason to be part of a forum dedicated to a product (any product) just to provide negative postings. I prefer ignoring and moving on.

As I have said on many panels that I am on - in the end it is about getting the film or program made and that is what is to be celebrated. WHich tools were used along the way are interesting to know but one NLE over another does not make one a better editor, or a smarter editor, or a better looking person, richer, taller, cure for baldness etc.

People will make their choice based on needs at hand, budget, etc.

End of thread.... please.

I guess I just thought post of this type were considered trolling and would be deleted.
If I went over the HVX forum and made a post that simply said "The HVX SUCKS! it uses P2 cards" and nothing else I would expect a mod to delete it.
 
Sorry Micheal.. the new system seemed to have stripped your Mod abilities.. I added them back so you have control again.
 
I've been using Avid since 1991 and have Xpress Pro Studio HD Complete running on a approved HP XW8000.

Works great day in and day out.
