Avid Studio Toolkit or Adobe After Effects?

Hi!
I use Avid Xpress Pro HD and are looking for some effectsoftware. I'm thinking between Adobe After Effects and Avid Studio Toolkit.

- Can I with Avid 3D built own 3D models or can I just buy finished models?
- What is the biggest difference between Avid Fx and Adobe After Effects?

You can build models with Avid 3D, but that's a substantial learning curve if you've never done 3D modeling before.

Avid FX is a rebranded Boris Red. It works through Avid's plugin architecture which is a hugh selling point. I really enjoyed working with Avid FX / Boris Red. That being said, After Effects will probably take you farther. Since it doesn't work with Avid's plugin you'll have to export video from Avid, bring it into AE for your work, export from AE, then bring that new clip back into the Avid timeline.
